Summary: Checkin was easy, staff were friendly, ambiance in the hallways was pleasant, and room was clean and odorless. “Superior king” was a small room, but not uncomfortably so. Water from the tap was delicious and pressure and temperature fine. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. A/C vent whistled a bit and kept my wife up but I didn’t notice it - thermostat on wall didn’t control air flow from what we could tell. Continental breakfast was … well, is any continental breakfast great? We had to go get bagel sandwiches. They’re still using disposable shampoos & lotions, which might appeal to traditional travelers but I would have loved a more eco-friendly option. Didn’t try the grill, went walking to downtown and had a great time.

Summary: Wonderful room. Friendly staff. We enjoyed the complimentary robes in the room. It was chilly in our room due to the drop in temperature outside in the midst of summer. The third floor could not compensate for that change. We also understand it is an old building so the heating is an old system. Overall, we would stay here again! It was fun to stay in such a unique hotel.

Summary: The hotel was a pleasant surprise! The facade of the building is well maintained with little touches still needed but definitely livable. It is as pictured! The amenities that included a desk and chair serves the business traveler as well as the family. They have an elevator that is large enough to accommodate more than one suitcases a time! Great find for New England! We love the renovations that preserved the old with a touch of modern that didn’t take away from the period. We missed the 5 star ( prior to COVID ) dining experience but it was my open. The staff was gracious and we felt safe in this place!

Summary: We had two rooms. The one on the first floor was bizarre and a bit creepy. It was around the corner from the lobby thru a door that seemed broken across from a room that looked like a storage room . It seemed very isolated. The AC lead a window unit which worked fine but you couldn't close the curtains without blocking it. It was a ground floor room so I definitely wanted to close the curtains at night.

Summary: Overall we enjoyed our stay. We were disappointed that the restaurant and bar were closed on the days we were there. The place could use some updating, but overall we were happy there. It is very close to the business district, so we were able to walk to where we wanted to go.

Summary: Another wonderful stay. As usual, the front desk person was incredibly kind and helpful (let us check in a little earlier as I wasn’t feeling well) and the housekeeping was fantastic as well.
